  "If I wasn't born a JW, I would never have become one."

  i've seen it mentioned by a few on the forum that at some point there was a realization that had they not been born a jw, they never would've converted no matter how many times the jws tried to study with them.

  this was my experience too, and i'm wondering how universal it is for those that were born-in but eventually left.

  i think i started having this thought (more specifically that if i were not born a jw, i would surely have become an atheist by now) in my late teens.

  No way in the hell would I had become a JW if it wasn't for the ex wife. She

  felt a cult would save our marriage, surprise it didn't work. We both were raised Baptist.

  What shocking stories did you ever hear about?

  as a pre-awakened ms, i heard of 2 stories that i found very shocking at the time.

  please keep in mind, i was following wt blindly at the time and was part of what i thought was the true religion.

  the first shocking story was when i attended a large meeting for elders and ministerial servants covering our circuit.

  An elderly sister (black) told me she and other black JW's were segregated from

  the White brother and sisters in the KH. She told me this in the 70's...

  Swearing on the bible

  on the subject of truth.

  ..... i was always under the impression that one of the reasons jws couldn't do jury duty or go to court etc was that we were not allowed to swear on the bible.

  ..as in i swear to tell the truth the whole truth etc etc .

  paraphrase translators do translate it "son of a bitch" or "son of a slut".

  Does Jesus have wings?

  years ago when i was attacked i had giant wings wrap around me in the midst of the chaos and i knew i everything was gonna be ok.all these years i assume d they were angel wings.then last night psalm 91:4 flashed across my tv and it made me wonder if it was jesus himself so i researched on my phone and came across this site.this is my 1st post feedback welcome and ty.post.

  I don't know about wings, but i wonder does he use the bath room, are there bath

  rooms in heaven? Can he poop and fly at the same time?

  Ten years from now they will be out of their minds.. Ten years from now there will be only

  one GB member . In the middle eastern countries they will bring back the killing of Christians

  in the arenas, only JW's this time. Better yet they will all move to upstate NY, a state of their own.

  6-7 thousand year ago? I told him from the Bible. He told me no one knows because records

  weren't kept 6 thousand years ago. I told him, please read your bible.

  watchtower teaches jws that christ's presence began invisibly in 1914. they also teach that the start of christ's presence coincides with the start of the last days.

  whether you believe in the bible or not, watchtower claims these teachings come from the bible.

  so does the bible actually agree with them?
